PRE-MATCH REPORT: CREETOWN FC v GRETNA 2008 U20s
Creetown FC return to Castle Cary Park on Wednesday evening looking to continue their perfect start to the new South of Scotland Football League season.
The Ferrytoon side have collected maximum points from their opening three matches, scoring eight goals and conceding just once. Victories over Saltire City and Annan Athletic CFC were followed by an impressive 2–0 win away to Nithsdale Wanderers on Saturday.

Wednesday’s visitors, Gretna FC 2008 U20s, are competing in the South of Scotland League for the first time this season. Their young side have made an encouraging start, collecting four points from their first three fixtures.
Gretna began with an excellent 2–0 victory away to St Cuthbert Wanderers. They then suffered a 3–1 defeat at Wigtown & Bladnoch before responding with a 2–2 draw against Mid Annandale on Saturday. The U20s form an important part of Gretna’s established academy pathway, helping young players progress towards the club’s Lowland League first team. Creetown will take confidence from their excellent early-season form, but they cannot afford to underestimate a Gretna side which has already shown that it can compete at this level. With both teams capable of finding the net, supporters can look forward to an entertaining contest.
A fourth consecutive victory would maintain Creetown’s 100% record and strengthen their early challenge at the top of the table.
