Creetown 5 Lochar Thistle 3

Yesterday we welcomed Lochar Thistle FC to Castle Cary Park in the South Regional Challenge Cup. It was Creetown this week that started the game brightly and soon were in the lead after some great play by Frazer Henderson & Joe McMillan seen captain David Hughes slide the ball past the Lochar keeper to make it 1 0. Soon after Hughes had another chance but this time his shot was of target. Creetown soon had a second goal this time it was Wullie Cloy giving his side a 2 goal lead. Lochar then got a goal back against the run of play but Frazer Anderson soon restored Creetown 2 goal lead when again some great play by young Joe McMillan seen Anderson slide in at the back post to score his second goal of the season. Lee Bass Creetown side traveled to Dumfries yesterday to face a Lochar Thistle in the South of Scotland League. In a bad first half for the visitors, Thistle went in 2 0 up at the break. The home side started the 2nd half brightly but found Creetown now up for a game. Sub Shaun Milligan was causing problems for the Lochar defence down the left wing & Joe McMillan was starting to see more of the ball & also causing the experienced home side problems. It was youngster McMillan that gave his side hope when he rounded the keeper after some great play to make it 2 1. With time running out Both sides had chances but the game ended 2 1 to the home side. Huge credit to the lads for the 2nd half performance. Yesterday home match against Kilmarnock outfit Bonnyton Thistle ended in a 0 1 defeat at Castle Cary Park. The much fancied visiting team found themselves in a game despite Gaffer Lee Bass missing several players. A tremendous effort form the lads who held Bonnyton of until late in the match. The gaffer was disappointed not to take anything form the game but was delighted by the application of his side against the title contenders. A single Andrew Houston goal late in the second half was enough to secure new gaffer Lee Bass his 2nd win in the first 3 games of the new season. YMCA started the game brightly and had several opportunities to take the lead but the Creetown defence were up for the challenge. The home side came close with a couple of chances from Joe McMillan & Colin Wilson and Dale Mccutcheon also hit the post. Creetown started the second half on the front foot and had several chance to take the lead. Colin Wilson again had a couple of headers just over and young Joe McMillan was again causing the visitors problems coming close several times.
