A single Andrew Houston goal late in the second half was enough to secure new gaffer Lee Bass his 2nd win in the first 3 games of the new season. YMCA started the game brightly and had several opportunities to take the lead but the Creetown defence were up for the challenge. The home side came close with a couple of chances from Joe McMillan & Colin Wilson and Dale Mccutcheon also hit the post.
Creetown started the second half on the front foot and had several chance to take the lead. Colin Wilson again had a couple of headers just over and young Joe McMillan was again causing the visitors problems coming close several times. Just when it looked like the game would end 0 0, Veteran defender Andrew Houston climbed highest at the back post and his header somehow ended up in the net as 2 YM defenders desperately tried to clear.
A hard fought win for Lee Bass and his side against a well organized & hard working YMCA side. A huge boost for the lads and a clean sheet for new goalkeeper Laurie Johnstone.
